Below is an overview of the services available through his practice.
Surgical Procedures & Minimally Invasive Surgery

Laparoscopic‑assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH)
Minimally invasive procedure – The uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and / or ovaries are removed through small abdominal incisions and the vagina. A camera inserted through the tiny incisions allows the surgeon to see clearly and manipulate miniature instruments. LAVH may be recommended for conditions such as abnormal bleeding, fibroids, uterine prolapse or cancer. Most patients go home the same day.

Dilation and curettage (D&C)
Minor procedure used to remove tissue from the uterus – The cervix is gently opened (dilated) and a slender instrument called a curette or a suction device is used to clear the uterine lining. D&C may be performed to treat heavy bleeding, remove remnants after miscarriage or childbirth, or collect tissue samples for diagnosis..

Other minor procedures
Sterilisation (tubal ligation) – A permanent contraception method in which the fallopian tubes are blocked or clipped. Dr Maphikana performs tubal ligation and, if appropriate, reversal surgery to reconnect the tubes and potentially restore fertility.
Minor operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy – Removal of fibroids, cysts or endometriosis lesions through keyhole surgery. Minimally invasive techniques often result in less postoperative pain and quicker recovery.
